‘City Of Angels’ is the newest tune from female duo The Let Go. It is a pastiche of 80s, ‘Girls Just Want To Have Fun’ era Cyndi Lauper, meets new-age indie pop.
After moving from Washington DC to Liverpool, the group has gone from strength to strength, first with single, ‘One More,’ then being played and interviewed on BBC’s Music Introducing Merseyside, their vision to get people moving their feet across the globe is starting to become a reality.

Combining guitar with synthy beats in this single though, they create a kind of bubblegum melody that even with quite melancholic lyrics, still seems to come across as a sort of positive affirmation.
Not to forget the retro style roller skates worn in their music video and that appear in their track art, an obvious, iconic nod to their 1980s inspirations. The block pastel colours used as the backdrop in the video too, act to reinforce the ultimately chill and heavenly feel of the tune, whilst they ask for something everyone has wanted in their life at some point: their favourite celebrity to like them.
